Method

Modern interactions are built on the assumption that helping people means thinking for them – we interrupt one another, finish each other's sentences, fill in the silent gaps and give unsolicited advice. Real help consists of listening to people so they can access their own thoughts first. Our co-created space is guided by the following principles:

I walk with you, not for you

My role is not to show you the path forward — I don’t know what your path looks like. No one does. The only way to know is by playfully experimenting and evaluating whether you like the outcome or not. I facilitate parts of the reflective process, but ultimately, I cannot do the work for you. If you are looking for quick answers so you don’t have to do the work, then this is not the right modality for your challenge.

Warmth is the practice

It’s common to think that the wisest strategy for dealing with seemingly negative emotions is to repress them. Your emotions and your ‘problems’ are trying to help you. It is data that you can use to make a conscious decision about your next best step. When you repress emotions, they start to fester like a rotting apple at the bottom of the fruit bowl. The antidote is curiosity and honesty about what you’ve pushed away, so you can create a warm and loving relationship with that part of yourself, just as you would with your own child.

Transformation through action

Knowing about surfing is not the same as paddling out in the ocean. You’ll need to commit to more than just surface exploration. While knowledge is the first step, it is not enough to create lasting change. Most attempts at positive change fail because we stop at insight and don’t build habits. Lasting change requires laying down neural pathways to form new habits through consistent practice.
